Curcuma longa (Turmeric)
Common name: Turmeric

Active Constituents: Curcumin
0.3-5.4%, volatile oil 4-14% (turmerone, atlantone, zingiberone), sugars,
resins, protein, vitamins (Vit C), minerals.(7)

Caution: High
doses may damage GIT mucosa (100mg/kg body weight) (7)
Dosage: FE (1:1) 1.7-4.8ml tds
Curcumin 400-600mg tds (7)
Turmeric 8000-60 000mg tds (7)
Best taken with Bromelain to increase
absorption of curcumin:
20 minutes before meals, or, with
lecithin, fish oils or EFAs: with meals
