Clinical actions

  • Volatile oil acts on the anterior pituitary
  • Restoration of corpus luteum function
  • Increased milk production during lactation (galactogogue)
  • Uterine tonic
  • Amphoteric effect on progesterone levels
  • TSH suppression
  • LH stimulation, thereby decreasing oestrogen effects.
  • FSH decreased

Clinical indications

  • Primary- PMS
  • Hypermenorrhoea
  • Polymenorrhoea
  • Oligomenorrhoea
  • Cystic hyperplasia of endometrium
  • Perimenopausal symptoms
  • For menstrual problems resulting from corpus luteum deficiency, particular those marked by premenstrual symptoms, spasmodic dysmenorrhoea, and symptoms of the 2nd half of the cycle.
  • For insufficient lactation.
  • For stimulating and normalising pituitary gland functions, espec. progesterone
  • Dysmenorrhoea, premenstrual stress and other disorders related to hormone function.
  • Aid body to re-balance after OCP.
